The EH-101 came to rescue a fisherman from a boat. Since the one that is based on Porto Santo hasn't got a crew, this one had to come from Azores.

Canjet having a welcoming shower

Today the polish airliner LOT Charters made their first flight to Madeira, with an aircraft from Canjet. From today to September Madeira airport will be receiving five flights from Poland weekly.

I had no idea that this airline would start flying to LPMA, so I left home and went to the airport with the objective of photographing the new Germania A321 with sharklets, and soon I find that a LOT flight was about to arrive. My surprise got bigger when I saw the fire trucks leaving the station, and heading to the ramp, to give a welcoming shower to the aircraft. This has been the first time I have seen an airplane having a shower without beeing in photos or videos, and wasn't expecting to watch such event today.

Special day for Triple 7

Today it's a special day for the Boeing 777! Twenty years ago the triple 7 was taking off for it's first flight, in June 12, 1994, but it was only first introduced one year after, in June 7, with United Airlines. Nowadays, with more than 1000 of them built, Emirates is one of the biggest customers of the T7. The 777 is the world's larget twinjet
The T7 is my favorite airplane, having a 773 almost twice the size of a 738 and weighing 5 times more and carrying 365 passengers. With two gigantic Turbofan's GE90, whose diameter is roughly the same than the fuselage of a 738, this plane produces an overall propulsion of 230 600lbf allowing a cruising speed of Mach 0.85 (Mach 1 - speed of sound ). The 773ER has a maximum range version of 7884 nm or 14600 km.
The 777 had no record of big crashes, but, unfortunately, three of them crashed in the last months. One in heathrow, from BA, one in San Fransico, from Asiana Airlines, and the second one, still missing, im Malaysia, from Malaysia Airlines.

Seen in my photos there are the two types of 777 that we can currently see flying, and the only two that I have ever photographed, the 777-200 and the 777-300.
